Sweet Rhythm Presents:

(U)nity was conceived in the summer of 2006 by Cuban American drummer Amaury Acosta and Cuban Pianist Axel Tosca Laugart. Amaury envisioned many musical projects and ideas.

Their vision was to create a sound that has never been done before, fusing their Afro-Cuban culture with Modern Jazz, Gospel, R&B, & Hip Hop. Their aim was to make a sound/ experience that every one could relate to.

The Vision of (U)nity is to inspire the youth in a positive way and bring people together through the power of music.

To find the just the right chemistry for (U)nity became a daunting task until the fall of 2008, when they crossed paths with French guitarist Michael Valeanu, a Minneapolis native, and bassist Christopher Smith. The energy just flowed ever so naturally.

Since then they have performed at the West New York Music & Arts Festival, Nu Blu,  Zinc Bar, Cachaca, Rose, Dizzy’s Club Coca Cola, Avon Jazz Festival, and the Manhattan Plaza Music Festival.

In early 2009 they recorded their first E.P. entitled "(U)nity is Power" featuring many guest appearances.
