Session 73 Presents:
Grupo Irék mixes the sounds of Cuba - Son, Cha-Cha-Cha and the Mambo - with New York City flavor into its original tunes. The band is comprised of members from all parts of the globe. With representation from Cuba, Columbia, Germany, Israel and Brooklyn, USA. - Grupo Irék proves that music comes from the soul.
Grupo Irék performs at small intimate settings and to big dance crowds. No matter what size audience, they always put on a big show. They are quickly becoming a big name in the New York City music scene. One reason to catch their live shows is to see singer Chino Pons in action. His dancing has been compared to Fred Astaire and Michael Jackson. Grupo Irék has been featured on NBC TV and on 99.5 FM NYC. Grupo Irék's debut CD, Yo Se Que Te Gusta, is now for sale and will be made available at all live shows.
Session 73 boasts an unflinching seven night a week lineup of Blues, Jazz, Latin and Funk while filling a more important niche than ever. The atmosphere at Session is all about food and mood. The small, shareable and international varied dishes encourage cross pollinating and casual sociable dining, while the live the music fuses the bustling bar and separate lounge dining room into one scene. Whether you've come to eat or to drink, you're part of the overall scene.
