100 SONES CUBANOS Nominated For GRAMMY
Nominations for the 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards were announced yesterday by The Recording Academy. Nominated in the category of Best Tropical Latin Album was 100 SONES CUBANOS (Various Artists) produced by Edesio Alejandro, Nelson Estevez and Juan Hidalgo [J&N Records].
Nominations reflected an eclectic mix of the best and brightest in music over the past year as determined by the voting members of The Academy. For the third year, nominations for the annual GRAMMY Awards were announced on primetime television as part of "The GRAMMY Nominations Concert Live!! — Countdown To Music's Biggest Night" a one-hour special broadcast live on CBS from Club Nokia at L.A. Live.
100 SONES CUBANOS COLLECTION tells the story of the "Son's" journey thru its own history, tradition and its deep roots in the heart of the Cuban people. An extraordinary collection containing the history and evolution of the Son. The set includes five CDs full of musical gems and a documentary DVD with some of the most renowned musicians, singers and personalities of the genre, with many exclusive interviews and commentaries. The Cuban people themselves, with their popular wisdom, selected the hundred Sones most relevant to create this compilation that summarizes the history and evolution of this contagious rhythm like no other.
